MLA Nuklutoshi takes Rastriya Salute in Kiphire, inaugurates CCTVs in Police Station on Independence Day

Kiphire: CCTVs being installed across police stations in state as per directive from SC

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated at Public Ground Kiphire with MLA Nuklutoshi unfurling the National Flag and taking the Rastriya Salute of the eleven march past contingents.

The MLA read out the Independence Day message and also led the gathering in taking the Drug Free Nagaland pledge.

The marching contingents were from Nagaland Police, Assam Rifles, Bharat Scouts & Guides, NCC, and Kiphire schools.

Traditional dances were presented by Amahator Union Atparu (Women cultural troupe) and Tikhir Taimitong Club Kiphire (Nam Cultural troupe). Special songs were also presented by Kiphire District Disability Association and I Lempanshe S, StarGazerArtist.

Different exhibition stalls were opened by various departments and NGOs on the occasion of Independence Day.

Later, the MLA Nuklutoshi inaugurated the CCTV installation at Kiphire Police station where he said that CCTVS in the police stations in Nagaland is part of the nationwide exercise which was undertaken under the direction of the Supreme Court of India. The project, he said, was initiated so that the allegations of custodial torture especially in police custody could be curtailed.
