The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has notified that all interstate and district-level transport services will be shifted to the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Khensa, Mokokchung with effect from

July 1, 2025. The directive applies to all government and private bus services, including inter-district

sumo (taxi) services operating under MMC jurisdiction.

Private buses and taxis travelling to various villages and towns under Mokokchung District will now operate from the MMC building basement. However, this does not apply to services departing before

6:00 AM, which may continue from the town area for the time being. Shuttle bus services will be arranged from the town to ISBT as per necessity.

Parking fees system to be implemented in July

Meanwhile, MMC also stated that the proposed parking fee system in designated zones will not be implemented from July 1 but will come into effect sometime within the month of July. A parking fee of

₹10 per vehicle (two/four-wheeler) per hour will be charged, applicable to both government and private vehicles, in the following zones:

Tongdentsuyong Ward (Transformer) to Bank of Baroda

Bank of Baroda to Rotary Junction

Rotary Junction to Marcofed Petrol Pump (Mongsenbai Ward)

Sewak Gate area

Rotary Junction to Milak Bridge (Model Hr. Sec School Junction)

MMC office area to Old Town Hall Market

Vehicle owners, drivers, and the general public are advised to adhere to the directives for smooth traffic and transport operations within MMC jurisdiction.
