The Mokokchung Municipal Council, in a notification on April 29, has reminded shopkeepers and business establishments on the prohibition of goods/stocking display outside the shop which obstructs pedestrian movment and create traffic congestion.

“All the shopkeepers/business establishments are hereby reminded again that the display or stocking of goods/materials outside the shop/business establishment especially on footpaths, drains and other public spaces, is strictly prohibited within Mokokchung Municipal jurisdiction,” informed the MMC.

Despite the earlier directive, it was observed that many business establishments continue to violate the order, resulting in obstruction of pedestrian movement and contributing to public inconvenience and traffic congestions

Therefore, all the shopkeepers/business establishments has been directed to strictly adhere to the office order with immediate effect. Non-compliance to the order shall attract appropriate penalty and dealt as per the relevant provision of law, cautioned the MMC.
