Following the announcement of the dates of the General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election, 2023 by the Election Commission of India on Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Election Officer (DEO) of Kohima, Phek, Noklak and Longleng districts, and ADC and Returning Officer of Pfutsero, have enforced the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the respective districts.
The Election Commission on Wednesday announced that the assembly poll in the state will be held on 27 February and votes will be counted on 2 March.
The DC and DEO of the districts informed all concerned that the MCC for the guidance of political parties and candidates will come into force with immediate effect throughout the districts and will be in force till the completion of the election process.
All political parties, intending candidates, government departments/establishments, and the general public are asked to take note of the same and adhere strictly to the MCC and extend cooperation to the district election machinery to ensure peaceful conduct of the General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election 2023.
