A press conference was held today at the Congress Bhavan, Kohima organised by the Nagaland Congress Pradesh Committee with regard to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to be held in Nagaland on January 15.
Mathew Anthony, National spokesperson and National Media Co-ordinator in charge of Northeast India, criticized the BJP government mentioning that the 10 years of grave injustice – Anyay- has been meted out by the BJP Govt affecting the people, India’s Democracy, and Constitution.
“Unprecedented unemployment has completely shattered the dreams and future of our youth. The backbreaking price rise has extinguished the hard-earned savings of our poor and middle-class. Income Inequality is at its peak,” stated Anthony.
He highlighted a critical perspective on various aspects of the Modi Government’s governance over the past ten years.
“A handful of Billionaires rule and puppet the present dispensation. SCs, STs, OBCs, minority and the poor have been systematically discriminated against. Farmers have been betrayed. Women have been deceived. All autonomous institutions have been strangulated and subjugated,” stated the National spokesperson.
He further flayed the government’s performance on various concerns such as unemployment, inflation, farmer issues, social discrimination, women’s safety, public health, economic policies, alleged favoritism towards certain businesses, national security, and claims of threats to democracy.
“Use of ED, CBI, II against Opposition, to illegally overthrow elected governments have become a norm. Laws are made by suspending the entire Opposition. National Security has been grievously endangered by giving Clean Chit to China. Social, Economic and Political lives of citizens have been destroyed through a noisy din of Jumlas, PR Stunts, Glitzy Events and Sabotaging Institutions,” stated Anthony
He also laid focus on the opposition-led state governments in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Manipur which according to Anthony, “fell after the B]P used blatant money power and threats of investigation by ED and CBI to induce MLAs to switch.” ;
