The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education celebrated its Annual Award Ceremony cum Advent Christmas today at MCTE Campus.
The programme was held under the theme ‘The Perfect Gift’ with Moa Jamir, youth pastor of Yimyu Baptist Church, Mokokchung, as the speaker.
“As God created us in His own image, God’s love is written in John 3:16 of the Bible,” Jamir stated.

He said the Bible has three criteria for the perfect gift: the gift should reflect the one who gives, knowledge of the one who receives it, and should have sustained value over time.
Stating that God has gifted the greatest gift with His deepest love, Jamir encouraged the gathering to celebrate Christmas by understanding this perfect gift with God in their midst, as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Meritorious Awards (University Toppers) were presented to Yashiyala T Imchen (9th rank) and Imnajungla (17th rank) in recognition of their excellent achievement under Nagaland University B Ed Final Semester Examination 2022.

The Most Promising Student Teacher of the Batch 2020-2022 Award was also presented to Imnajungla in recognition of her attributes and performance as a promising humane facilitator.

The formal programme was followed by the Christmas Feast and Club-wise Carol Competition and Extravaganza, where both the facilitators and student teachers participated.
The occasion also witnessed the declaration of the results of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities under three categories – Painting, Photography and Poetry Competition.
