The  3-day workshop cum sports meet hosted by Mokokchung College of Teacher Education, kicked off on 15th October and concluded on the 17th October. The event started with an insightful session led by Avisa Chase, Aerobics and Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor, Certified Nutrition Counsellor, First Aider, and Physical Education Teacher under the Department of School Education.

He emphasised that fitness is about long-term health and well-being rather than appearances. He also provided a hands-on lesson in first aid and shared practical advice on managing diet and stress. His statement, “Eat your food as medicine, or you’ll have to eat medicine as your food,” which resonated with everyone, especially with the ongoing love for junk food.

The much-anticipated Zumba session, also led by Avisa, saw student teachers and faculty alike participating with surprising enthusiasm—whether they had rhythm or not was beside the point.

The sports meet featured a variety of traditional and modern games, including cockfight, catapult shooting, bamboo stilt race, kho kho, futsal, and volleyball, blending cultural heritage with contemporary sports.

Overall, the event truly reinforced the theme, “Celebrating Healthy Living: Fitness Mosaic,” reminding everyone of the importance of fitness, teamwork, and community well-being through a perfect mix of learning, fun, and healthy competition.
