Deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS informed that the movement of all heavy vehicles on the bridge will be restricted starting Saturday to 7 May 2023. Only light vehicles carrying personnel luggage will be allowed during the stipulated time, the directive said.

The restrictions have been put to facilitate the repairing works on a portion of the deck slab of the Dikhu Bridge at Mokokchung to Noksen (Tuensang) road via Longmisa village that ‘poses great danger to the lives and properties of the general public’, the notification stated.

Further, the DC informed that EAC Ongpangkong is to coordinate to check and ensure that the restriction of movement of all heavy vehicles is adhered to and that violators would be penalised.
