In view of the ongoing eviction drive against illegal immigrants by the Assam Government, the Mokokchung district administration has issued precautionary directives to prevent any potential influx of displaced individuals into Nagaland’s territory.
Citing apprehensions that some evicted persons may attempt to enter Mokokchung district, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed all administrative officers, police personnel, village councils, and relevant enforcement agencies to maintain strict vigilance and coordinate closely for effective monitoring.
The district administration has already conducted coordination meetings with police, enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations to ensure a proactive response to any emerging situation.
Appealing to all village councils, urban local bodies (ULBs), town councils, gaon burahs (GBs), civil society organizations, and the general public, the administration urged full cooperation and immediate reporting of any suspected influx of illegal immigrants.
