The Mokokchung Forest Division organized a one-day training program on record keeping/accounting and Community Conserved Areas (CCA) management plan,
Changtongya Beat on August 20 at the Forest Office Marepkong.
The program was aimed at enhancing the capacity of community members in maintaining
proper accounts and strengthening the implementation of the CCA management, a press release from the department informed.
Participants were given practical guidance on bookkeeping methods, accountability practices,
and the importance of transparent financial management in community institutions.
Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Moamongba spoke on the importance of effective
record keeping, better understanding of the CCA management plan and how the training
would contribute to improved transparency and accountability.
The technical sessions were led by FcOM Lipokinla Pongen and account assistant JICA Temsuwapang as resource persons. They delivered practical guidance on accounting procedures, maintaining financial records and preparing reports along with examples relevant to SHG’s and CCAs.

A total of 25 members witnessed the training from members of CCA and Self-help-groups
(SHGs) who engaged in interactive sessions and practical demonstrations.
The Forest and Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya, Nagaland Project (FBMP), co-
financed by Federal Republic of Germany through KfW (German Development Bank) is
being implemented under Mokokchung Forest Division, under the FBMP Batch-2 which includes villages of Unger, Changtongya Old, Akhoya and Nukshiyim.
The objectives of the project includes promotion of sustainable and effective management of forest and biodiversity in the state of Nagaland, to support improved connectivity and conservation of biodiversity, to create and enhance livelihood opportunities of dependant communities, and to put in place incentive mechanisms rewarding communities for effectively protecting and maintaining their CCAs stated Dr. Sentitula, the Divisional Forest
