Yajen Aier Government High School in Mopungchuket Village, Mokokchung district is diligently conducting self-defence lessons for its girls as directed by the Government of Nagaland. The programme is specially for students in secondary school.
The instructor, Mongsen LKR, a Black belt first dan in Kickboxing, informed that the girls are trained twice in a month. He also informed that the skills will helps the girls to be more aware of their surroundings and the tactics will help in protecting oneself from any form of physical harm.

Through the self defence training, the girls are taught to become psychologically, intellectually, and physically strong enough to protect themselves in times of assault or harassment.
Mongsen is not a staff of the school but a concerned community worker who devotes his time in different schools teaching children to defend themselves in times of need. It is learnt that the black belt first dan is in high demand among schools in Mokokchung that want him to train their students in self-defence.

Yajen Aier Govt. High School Mopungchuket was upgraded to a high school in the year 2015 and the new name of the school was adopted the same year after Yajen Aier, who hailed from the village and was the first Naga deputy inspector of schools. Aier retired as director of education in 1975.
