Sangtemla Ward clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sungkomen Ward in the second semi-final of the 6th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2025, securing their place in the championship final. They will now face Dilong Ward in the highly anticipated title decider.
The semi-final match was an intense contest, with both teams demonstrating exceptional skill and determination. The first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with Bapen (Jersey No. 15, 38th minute) striking for Sangtemla, before Medemmar (Jersey No. 19, 43rd minute) equalized for Sungkomen.
The second half saw a fierce battle as Opangtemjen (Jersey No. 2, 48th minute) and R. Achi (Jersey No. 9, 65th minute) found the net for Sangtemla, while Tarepnungsang (Jersey No. 7, 60th minute) scored for Sungkomen to keep the game in the balance. Despite Sungkomen’s efforts, Sangtemla held on for the victory.

With this victory, Sangtemla Ward will now lock horns with Dilong Ward in the final of the 6th edition of the Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament.

This year’s final is set to make history as Dilong Ward aims for their first-ever title, while Sangtemla Ward looks to reclaim the championship. Sangtemla has previously won the tournament once, whereas Dilong has reached the final before but had to settle for the runner-up position. Unlike last year, when Arkong Ward secured their second title with a 3-1 victory over Artang Ward, this edition guarantees a new champion.
