The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) is organising a mass donation drive among its members on 16 and 17 February 2024 within the Mokokchung municipality jurisdiction in aid of the fellow members affected by the fire at MMC Shopping Complex.
In this regard, MCCI President Tsukti Longkumer and General Secretary Limalenden Longkumer have urged all members to cooperate and donate generously for the welfare of those affected by the unfortunate incident that happened on 3 February 2024.
The fire that engulfed the first floor of the shopping complex in Mokokchung, completely destroyed around 62 stores while 73 were severely affected by the heat and smoke.
“Your contribution will not only help the fellow members of MCCI affected by the fire to rebuild their lives but also contribute to the growth and resurgence of Mokokchung,” MCCI stated.
In an appeal to its members, MCCI said that every contribution will not only help the individuals but also strengthen the community. “Together, we can rise stronger and show the true spirit of Mokokchung”, it added.
Earlier, under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) had initiated a crowdfunding campaign to provide immediate relief to the affected.
