The MTLT has a longstanding commitment to promoting sports in society, with many of its members serving as officials in various sports associations within the district. Furthermore, the MTLT is delighted to witness the gradual but steady resurgence of sports in the district, which had remained dormant for some time. Encouragingly, young boys and girls are now actively engaging in sports alongside their academic pursuits, with the support of their parents. Notable developments include the revival of the Basketball Association Mokokchung District (BAMD), the Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association (MDTA), and Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM). The MTLT encouraged all sports associations and athletes to draw inspiration from their accomplished seniors and strive to bring further acclaim to the district and community.

Simultaneously, the MTLT called upon the relevant authorities to take serious notice of the sports rejuvenation in the district. They specifically requested the District Officer of the Department of Sports & Youth Resources and the Mokokchung District Sports Council (MDSC) to provide the necessary support to ensure that aspiring young athletes are not deterred on their path to excellence.

In conclusion, the MTLT assured local athletes of unwavering moral support and encouraged them to relentlessly pursue excellence in their respective sports.
