Mokokchung: NDPP files complain against Constable for allegedly buying votes for INC candidate

Mokokchung: NDPP urges RO to grant sanction to book the culprit immediately

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Mokokchung Region, has filed a complaint against one Constable, DEF Mokokchung, for allegedly distributing money to buy votes for the INC candidate.

In its complaint to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Returning Officer (RO), Mokokchung Municipal Council Elections 2024, the NDPP claimed that the accused was “caught red handed while distributing money at Sangtemla Ward on the night of 23/06/2024 to buy votes for INC candidate Mr.I.Temsu Jamir.”

Stating that buying of votes by cash or by kind is an electoral malpractice and a punishable offence, Angnungba, President of NDPP, Mokokchung Region, urged that sanction be granted to book the culprit immediately.
