The Mokokchung Police seized two vehicles on September 21 and arrested two drivers on possession of illegal IMFL.

According to a press release by the Sr. Superintendent Police of Mokokchung, the two vehicles B/No:-AS03- CC-2834 (TATA YODHA) and AS03-CC-1570 (Mahindra Bolero Pick-up) at New Camp area were seized while transporting illegal IMFL to Mokokchung. The two drivers namely (1) Nobajit Dutta 27yrs S/O:-Ram Dutta R/O:-New Sonowal, Mariani Assam and (2) Human Dutta 21yrs S/O:-Laxman Dutta R/O:-New Sonowal, Mariani Assam were arrested.

A total of 2880 bottles (750ml) of MC Dowell Rum was recovered from the first vehicle (TATA YODHA) and another 30 cases of MC Dowell (180ml), 45 cases of Kingfisher Can Beer and 1140 bottles of MC Dowell Rum (750ml) was recovered in the second vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Pick-up). A criminal case under NLTP Act has been registered at Mokokchung Police Station-II and investigation is going on.
