Poanglüm Hornbill Festival 2025 under the theme MOLO “Imagining the Ultimate” commenced at Parade Ground Tuensang on 13th January 2025. On the first Day of Festival Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, graced the occasion as the special guest and Minister for Housing & Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashangmongba Chang, as Host of the Festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Along extended Poanglüm greetings to the Chang community and thanked the Chang Khulei Setshang for taking initiative to organise such a grand event which upholds and preserves the rich cultural and heritage. He said that through the Festival, they should promote local organic products. He added that Tuensang, also known as Mini-Nagaland, with different tribes living together, and with this gathering, everyone should promote peace and harmony among Nagas.

Along stated that many tribes are getting lost with the modernity and that is the time for the younger generations to know the rich cultural history. He said that Nagas should be tagged as hardworking and peace-loving community to other, and added that it is time to work hard and understand each other and not to take arms for the society to progress. He also urged the youth to stay away from drugs abuse and make a better society to live in.
Other highlights of the functions included welcome address by W. Amoongli, Convenor Poanglüm Organising Committee, significance of Poanglüm by Drama Team TTBL, short speech from Horangse Vice President ENPO and Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, DC Tuensang and Folk Fusion by Mütten Hau. On the first day, indigenous games such as tug of war, stilt bamboo race, go karting and wrestling were held.
The event was attended by MLA, Imti Chuba; Director, Department of Tourism, Veyielo Doulo and Assistant Director Department of Tourism, Khekishe Kapo.
