Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR), under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North), conducted a security meeting with ward presidents of Mon town.
The meeting was conducted to facilitate cooperation with each other and to appreciate an incident free conduct of the recently held assembly elections, a defence update informed.
The meeting was also utilised to spread awareness on Agniveer and SSC (GD) recruitment. All the ward presidents along with ward secretaries attended the security meet.
The battalion also distributed four solar street lights for each ward.
Meanwhile, in Longzang village, the battalion conducted a medical camp on 29 March.
The camp was conducted to provide vital medical care to the far-flung village. 150 villagers including few from nearby villages of Longzang, Pukha and Wetting availed medical facilities at the camp, it said.
