The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board was held on February 18 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. The Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS presided over the proceeding, and welcomed the DPDB members present.
After reviewing last meeting minutes, the DC introduced the proposed agendas for creation of Primary School at New Tobu Village, which was discussed in the last November 2025 DPDB meeting. DEO Mon, Thinoneisie Lhousa gave a brief report on the status of the school and appealed the members for recommendation.
Based on the report of the concerned department, the board recommended the proposal for the creation of GPS at New Tobu Village. A proposal for creation of Anganwadi Centre at Mohung Changai under CDPO Aboi was also discussed and forwarded to the concern department for approval.

The proposals for registration of Lohlong Football Club of Zangkham village under Tizit, shifting of Oting Village Administrative block from Mon Sadar to Tizit Sub-Division and change of nomenclature of Yannyu village to Yannu village under Tizit sub-division were discussed and forwarded to the respective higher authority for approval.
Er. Thanyalo Kath, Sub-Divisional Officer €, gave a PowerPoint presentation on Smart Metering of Electricity, and elaborated on the advantages of Smart Metering.
The DC encouraged the Agri. And Allied Departments to actively participate in the Aspirational Agriculture District. He informed that the Ministry is keen to know the grass root level activities, and called upon them to focus more on the activities taking place in the grass root level. He informed that with the advancement of technology all the reporting is done through online, and asked them to upload all their works through online system. He also encouraged the members to focus on development of the district and discharge their duties with dedication and efficiency. The DC further informed that Inter Departmental Tournament will be held from March 12 to 14.
