The Mon District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on November 9 at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall under the chairmanship of MLA, C. Manpon Konyak.
The Chairman expressed his gratitude to all the HoDs posted in Mon for rendering yeoman service for the upliftment of the district. He also called upon them to actively participate and attend the monthly DPDB meeting for all round development in all sphere.
After reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board discussed and decided to approve the applications for registration of the following societies – Fusion Foundation, Jahjon ward, Shahgoth Cultural Society Sheanghah Chingyu village and Visionary Foundation, New site.
After a thorough discussion, the board decided to forward to the government the petition of upgradation of SDO Civil office to ADC office. The board also approved the relocation of GPS Shamnyu ward Mon town and also approved for the recognition of two new villages – Totok Maohnyu under Mon Sadar and Longwa Lailo village under Phomching. After a long deliberation, the Board decided to nominate Council Chairman from Chi and Mon village in Town Council and DPDB. District Planning Officer, V. Aron Sema also presented the Constitution of LADP 2024-25 verification report.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Health and Family Welfare P. Paiwang Konyak, Advisor Treasuries & Accounts and Art & Culture, Konngam Konyak, Advisor Social Welfare Wangpang Konyak, Advisor Geology & Mining and DUDA, W Chingang Konyak, Mankhao Konyak MLA, A Nyamyie Konyak MLA and Neiba Konyak MLA. It may be mentioned that later in the evening, Advent Christmas programme of Mon District Planning and Development Board along with the elected representatives of Mon district was held at Helsa Report. During the programme, P Paiwang Konyak Minister for Health and Family Welfare shared his experiences on “Reflections on Christmas”. Speech on behalf of the Legislators was delivered by Manpon Konyak, MLA & Chairman DPDB Mon and welcome address was delivered by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Mon.
The evening programme was followed by a musical extravaganza and Christmas Feast.
