The Mon District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon, DIPR informed.

During the meeting, a major repair of the bridge between the New Site and the main Bazar Mon town was discussed and forwarded to DUDA and DPDB Chairman.

The board discussed the construction of a 132 KV Transmission line from Longleng to Mon with a 2×25 MVA Substation at Mon Town as an alternative Power line.

During the meeting, the Board approved the opening of Laifa School at Chingkao, Aboi and Goodwill School Mon.  It also approved the renewal of provisional recognition up to class 5 and class 8 recognition of Eastwood School Mon.

The Yei Students’ Union registration was forwarded to the concerned department for the same.

SDO(C) Mon, Rongsenmenla gave a PowerPoint presentation about the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan District level Awareness Campaign in the district.

During the DPDB meeting, DC Verma called upon the members to be proactive in the Officer’s Club. New office bearers were inducted in view of many officers being transferred out from the district.
