The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board was held on 23rd January 2026 at DC’s Conference Hall. The Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS presided over the proceeding. He welcomes the members present and called upon the new members for self-introduction.
After reviewing the last meeting minutes, the DC spoke on the agendas of the Village Adoption Committee. He said that a committee will be set up in all the nine constituency, composed of MLA from the concerned constituency, Officer from Administration, and representatives from departments. The committee will identify and select the village for adoption.
The DC also urged the members to uplift and bring changes in the villages they adopted by contributing with the available resources from their department. This will be a great help to the village and achievement for the department. He also mentioned that there will be one Core Committee and at the end of the year the best will be selected.

The proposal for the change of School name and school location of Little Flower School, Tizit was discussed and forwarded to the higher authority. The DC also read out the Republic Day work distribution assigned to each department, and reminded the members about the Inter Departmental Tournament which is going to be held soon. He also informed about the financial assistance (Rs. 1 Lakh) to A Ponglih Konyak by the MLA & Chairman DPDB, Y Mankhao Konyak as recommended by the MBDA.
District Chaplain, Rev Yeangphong Konyak encouraged the members to discharge their assigned duties and responsibilities with a commitment and invoked God’s presence and guidance throughout the year.
