During their visit to Longwa village in Mon district on 21 January, Governor of Assam and Nagaland Prof Jagdish Mukhi and his lady wife Prem Mukhi also paid a visit to Longwa Post of Mon Battalion under IGAR (North).

The Governor was briefed on the role and task of the Assam Rifles during the visit.

A security conference was presided over by the Governor at Longwa post which was attended by all security agencies in the district and district administration.

It has been stated that the warm welcome by locals and the efforts of the Assam Rifles in the role of border guarding were greatly appreciated by the visiting dignitary. The visit was followed by lunch hosted at the Assam Rifles Post.
