K Temjennaro Longkumer, ADC & Returning Officer Mon Town Council, has notified that an Election is to be held for a member to Ward No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 with Ward No. 1, 4, 7 and 10 to be reserved for women on rotation of the Mon Town Council Municipality informed DIPR.

Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer to the Mon Town Council Returning Officer at Additional Deputy Commissioner Office Chamber, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mon. The papers are to be submitted between 11 AM and 3 PM on any day from Friday, 7^th June, 2024 but not later than Tuesday, 11^th June, 2024.

Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid.

On Thursday, 13^th June, 2024 the nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny at the Additional Deputy Commissioner Office Chamber, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mon.

Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer or his election agent (who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it to the officer specified in paragraph (2) above at his office before 3:00 PM on the 18^th June, 2024 (Tuesday).

In the event of the election being contested the poll will be taken on Wednesday, 26^th June, 2024 between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Further, in pursuance to the notification issued by the State Election Commission, Nagaland, K Temjennaro Longkumer has also notified that in accordance with the relevant provisions of Rule 20 of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules 2023, the Election Programme for conduct of General Election to Mon Town Council is notified as per the scheduled given below:

1.     Period for filing of nomination is 7th – 11th June 2024 (Friday – Tuesday) up to 3:00 PM
2.     List of validly presented nomination papers, 12th June 2024 (Wednesday)
3.     Scrutiny of validly presented nomination papers, 13th June 2024 (Thursday)
4.     List of Validly nomination candidates, 14th June 2024 (Friday)
5.     Filing of revision application and disposal, 15th June 2024 (Saturday)
6.     Last date for withdrawal of candidature, 18th June 2024 (Tuesday) up to 3:00 PM
7.     List of contesting candidates and list of polling stations, 18th June 2024 (Tuesday) after 3:00 PM
8.     Date of Poll, 26th June 2024 (Wednesday) Between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
9.     Date of Re- Poll, if any, 28th June 2024 (Friday)
10. Counting & Declaration of Results, 29th June 2024 (Saturday) 8:00 am onward, counting Centre/Hall
