The picturesque village of Mongsenyimti in Mokokchung district was a vibrant hub of cultural festivities as the Tsüngremmung festival unfolded on Wednesday. The event, held at Ajajima, was hosted by the esteemed Riongsanger Putu Menden, Mongsenyimti, and graced by prominent political figures, including Metsubo Jamir, the Minister of RD & SIRD.
Under the banner of unity and thanksgiving, the Tsüngremmung Festival ignited a spirited celebration in Mongsenyimti Village. Chief Guest Metsübo Jamir hailed the village’s unity and emphasised the potency of collective efforts, proclaiming, “Unity has blessings.”

Tsüngremmung, a festival dedicated to giving thanks to God, holds deep cultural significance as it symbolises the village’s forefathers seeking divine blessings for their agricultural harvests.
Chief Guest Jamir underscored the pivotal role of unity witnessed during the festival in electing better leaders, fostering community cohesion, and guiding the younger generation to preserve their cultural heritage.
Advisor, Water Resources, Tongpang Ozukum lavished praise on Riongsanger Putu Menden for their unwavering dedication to planning for the welfare of the village and nurturing the younger generation. Ozukum emphasised the significance of such initiatives in shaping a brighter future for the community.
The festival saw a distinguished array of guests, including MLA S Keoshu Yimchunger, MLA Dr. Tseilhoituo Rhutso, MLA Nuklutoshi, MLA A Pongshi Phom, and MLA Benei M Lamthiu who added significance to the joyous celebration.
Various cultural performances enchanted the audience, featuring captivating songs by Riongsanger Putu, Mongsenyimti, mesmerising Tsüngremmung displays by Arju Centre, and lively dances performed by cultural clubs from the village and its surrounding areas.
