A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Department of Industries &Commerce, Government of Nagaland and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) team at Kohima on August 6, informed DIPR.
Chief Business Officer, Delhi, Shireesh Joshi, Director, Industries & Commerce, P. Tokugha Sema signed the MoU. The programme was also attended by Additional Director, Industries & Commerce, Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar, in-charge of NE states ONDC, Pooja Bajaj Bagaria, Addble Solutions Pvt, Ltd, Yaikhomba, Illandlo Pvt. Ltd, Imtisunep and other officials.
Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is a flagship initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to democratize e-commerce in India. In Nagaland, the Department of Industries & Commerce is the Nodal Department for promoting and advancing the successful implementation of ONDC initiative within the State.

The primary aim of this MoU is to collaborate in facilitating digital sales for small businesses, farmers, artisan and entrepreneurs through the ONDC platform and enhance their digital inclusion. The’collaborative efforts under this MoU aim to empower and enable these diverse business entities by leveraging digital solutions and fostering sustainable growth.
For Further expansion and widespread participation, the Government of Nagaland has empanelled Ilandlo Services Private Limited (The Nagaland Based E-commerce Brand) to work as the Nodal Agency, to bring in all the local artisans, FPO’s, entrepreneurs etc under its umbrella and help in their on boarding process onto the ONDC Network. The diverse local business entities, who many a times face challenges in accessing broader markets will thus find a channel to showcase their products and generate revenue through Ilandlo’s e-commerce platform.
