Mount Olive College Kohima held its 31st annual Freshers’ meet welcoming the 61 freshers under the theme “Step into the future with confidence and courage” at the college auditorium with Hikali Achumi, Miss Nagaland 2022 as the Chief Guest on Saturday.
Addressing the students reigning Miss Nagaland Hikali Achumi encouraged the students to believe in themselves and to step into the future as is in the theme with confidence and courage. She also encouraged them to work hard and dream big irrespective of what dreams they dream and added there’s no dream as big and small “we all have dreams” and urged to students to walk in integrity by putting God first in everything.

Lovitoli Zhimomi, Vice Principal of Mount Olive College in her welcome note urged the students to embrace every challenge that comes their way and to make the most of their time in the college. She encouraged the students to engage in discussions, participate in extra curricular activities and to think beyond the conventional. “Success is not just about reaching a destination but about the journey itself cherish the friendship you will make, the lessons you will learn and the memories you will create”
She also maintained that the institution will not just shape the academic pursuits but also the personal growth of the students and said “our institution is not just a place of learning it is a community that natures talent, fosters creativity and encourages critical thinking” and added “remember you are not just joining an institution but family that believes in your potentials and dreams”
Encouraging the students to be curious, courage and confident as the theme of the event she said, “your dreams are valid and with dedication and hard work you can turn them into a reality”
Meanwhile, Puloto Achumi bagged the Mount Olive College Kohima Mr Fresher 2023 title, Shoniu won Miss Fresher 2023 title from amongst the 14 contestants.
Earlier Aton, SJMGH Warden pronounced the invocation, Newtoli Zhimo, Chaplain prayed for the freshers while Yambolumi, 5th Semester student and Neikehenuo spoke on behalf of seniors and juniors respectively and vote of thanks was proposed by Vihuto Achumi.
The program was hosted by Khrienuo and Kaihe.
