The Congress party is fielding six candidates from the 18 wards in Mokokchung Town, aiming to send “model leaders” to represent the community. Jamir underscored three core agendas of the Congress party in the municipal and town council elections: youth empowerment through sponsoring some educated youth annually for coaching to prepare for competitive exams at both the central and state levels, and establishing self-help groups in each ward to empower women.

Jamir vowed to bring transformative change, progress, and equality if the Congress is given the mandate in the ULB elections. He emphasized that the focus should not be on the ruling ticket but on the candidate’s capability, urging voters to elect competent leaders across all 18 wards for the betterment of Mokokchung Town.

Congress candidates T Nungshitemjen from Yimyu Ward, I. Temsu Jamir from Sangtemla Ward, Bendanginla O. from Majakong Ward, Yongkongsangla R. from Artang Ward, and Rongsenlemla Jamir from Marepkong Ward also spoke during the events in their respective wards, attended by the MP and President of NPCC, S.
