A thanksgiving programme conducted by the Mangmetong Senso Telongjen Kohima to honour I Moatemjen Jamir and Dr BM Sunep, on their promotion to Head of Departments, at Printing & Stationery and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services respectively, was held at the Official Residence of Imkong L. Imchen, Advisor, IPR & Soil and Water Conservation, on July 26.
Speaking at the event, Director, Printing & Stationery, I Moatemjen Jamir said it was the Almighty’s blessing for his promotion as Director and ensured that he would give his best effort to serve the public and to uplift the department during his tenure as Director, he also and expressed his gratitude to his family and well-wishers for their support.
Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Dr. B.M. Sunep, while sharing his career testimony, called upon the youth- he said today we are living in a postmodern era, where philosophy leads the world and not technology, where we need to believe in ourselves, our ability, our capacity for studies, work or job performance.
He also advised them to seek God when met with failure, misfortunes, tragedies, etc in life, as everyone is born with a purpose in life that needs to be understood. He also asked the parents to let our children choose their field of studies and their choice of career that will give them job satisfaction.

Advisor, IPR & Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L. Imchen, while delivering his exhortation speech, congratulated the two HoDs on their achievement as Directors and advised them to be happy with this blessing and serve the public with utmost dedication. In his speech, the Advisor also narrated about the schooling scenario in Mangmetong village during the Naga Political Struggle in 1955, where the citizens of Mangmetong Village were motivated in politics rather than government services and school-going children were restricted from attending schools, and a fine was imposed if they disobeyed. But he added that with the schooling scenario changing from the 1960s, the Mangmetong village has produced many scholars and officers, bureaucrats and HoDs, which we should be proud of.
The Advisor also asked everyone to know the duty each citizen of Mangmetong should perform and to remember God’s purpose, which every person needs to fulfil. He later called upon the students to be sincere in their studies and also requested the parents to advise and guide their children on the right path.
Pastor, Nagaland Christian Revival Church, Ao Kohima, Toshi Imchen, in his sermon preached on building one’s foundation in God that would uplift the nation to lead the people forward and to magnify the glory of God.
The programme was chaired by President, Mangmetong Senso Telongjen Kohima, N. Meren Longchar, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Timothy Imchen, the MangmetonglarTelongjem Kohima also presented a song during the event.
