The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA) concluded its Football Coaching Clinic in Mokokchung on Saturday. The clinic commenced on 19 June and spanned over a period of three weeks. It was specifically designed for younger players between the ages of 10 and 14, encompassing both boys and girls. The coaching clinic was divided into three categories: 10-12 years, 12-14 years, and a separate category for girls.

The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) supported and supervised the coaching clinic, providing guidance and expertise. The objective of the clinic, organized by the MTBA Youth Department, was to nurture talented young individuals who had the potential to excel in the field of football.
A total of 134 young aspiring players enrolled in the clinic, with 96 participants successfully completing the program. Out of the total participants, 80 were boys, while 16 were girls. These young players were mentored and coached by 12 certified coaches throughout the clinic, receiving professional guidance to enhance their skills and abilities.
The closing program of the Football Coaching Clinic was graced by Colonel Rahul Gurung, Kirti Chakra, Commandant of the 12th Assam Rifles, who served as the Guest of Honour. During his address, the Guest of Honour expressed his appreciation for the parents’ support towards their children’s passion for football. He emphasized the importance of discipline in the life of a sports player and commended the MTBA Youth Department for their commendable initiative in nurturing young talents in the beautiful game of football.
The Youth Department of the church made a special mention of the 12th Assam Rifles, led by the Commandant, the Mokokchung District Football Association, the church itself, and the parents for their collective efforts in making the Football Coaching Clinic a resounding success.
