In a press release today stated “MTLT Office Formally Dedicated,” the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) celebrated a significant milestone as their new office chambers were formally dedicated on Saturday, September 9. The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Dr. Bendang Longkumer, the Pastor of Artang Baptist Church, and took place at Arkong Ward, right in the heart of Mokokchung.
The newly inaugurated office complex includes a President’s Chamber, a General Secretary cum Media & Publicity Office, a Conference Hall, and a welcoming foyer. This achievement comes after the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Mokokchung shifted its operations to a new facility in Kumlong Ward, making way for the MTLT to refurbish and repurpose the location.

During the dedication ceremony, Rev. Dr. Bendang Longkumer offered words of inspiration, emphasizing the importance of keeping God at the forefront of their work for the welfare of the people. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 10:31, he urged the Mokokchung Town youths to undertake all endeavours for the Glory of God. He also drew strength from Philippians 4:13, encouraging the MTLT to draw their strength from the Lord as they boldly stand for truth and work for the betterment of the community.
Imkongsanen Imchen, the first President of MTLT, shared insights into the organization’s early history, recalling the challenges faced and the unwavering support of parents and members that sustained them through those initial struggles. He commended the present office bearers for their commitment in establishing this dedicated office, urging them to prioritize the well-being of the community, uphold truth, and work tirelessly for the people’s benefit.
MTLT’s current President, Imnaonen Pongen, expressed gratitude in his welcome address, acknowledging the contributions of all those involved in making the new office chambers a reality. He particularly highlighted the generosity of MTLT members and citizens who contributed to furnishing the office. Additionally, he expressed deep appreciation to Mr. & Mrs. L. Yanger Aier, the landlords who leased the building to MTLT, emphasizing the organization’s enduring gratitude for their support.
The event was meticulously orchestrated, with General Secretary Imkongchuba Pongen chairing the proceedings, and Assistant General Secretary Moarenba invoking blessings from above. The dedication of the MTLT office reflects their commitment to their motto, “Always Vigilant,” as they continue their vital work for the betterment of Mokokchung Town and its residents.
