Nagaland police have successfully conducted several operations across the state in January and February 2025, resulting in significant drug seizures and the arrest of multiple traffickers with its commitment to tackling the growing menace of drug trafficking. According to documents provided by the Nagaland Police, the following seizures and arrests were made recently:
Seizure in Chümoukedima on January 21, 2025
Acting on reliable intelligence, the Anti-Extortion Team (AET) Chümoukedima, led by ACP CMD, intercepted a small car (AS01EX0705) near Chümoukedima. A search revealed 37 soap cases containing heroin (Shan Flower), weighing approximately 400 grams, concealed in a hidden compartment of the vehicle’s fuel tank.
Two individuals, identified as Rajib Uddin (30) and Rabbul Islam (23), both from Nagaon, Assam, were arrested on the spot. Further investigation led to the arrest of four more individuals from Assam suspected of being involved in the trafficking network.
Seizure in Tenyiphe I, Chümoukedima on January 28, 2025
In another operation on January 28, the AET Chumoukedima apprehended Phainyu Konyak (44) with seven soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 93 grams. Following her arrest, two more suspects were apprehended, including P.B. Puime (49), who attempted to resist arrest, and Khane Dahrii (32). A total of ₹1,76,600 in cash was also seized.
Seizure by Narcotic Police on January 28, 2025
A mobile unit of the Narcotic Police intercepted a white Maruti Alto (AS02AK3656) at the T-Khel Model Village gate in Kohima. A search revealed 50 soap boxes of heroin weighing 509 grams, concealed in a compartment attached to the fuel tank. The accused, Muksidul Hoque (23), was arrested, and the contraband’s street value was estimated at ₹3.56 crore.

Arrests and Seizures in Kohima on February 2, 2025
The Kohima South Police, acting on intelligence, deployed a decoy customer to apprehend Vikholou Domai (39) in possession of a soap case containing 10 grams of heroin.
On the same day, a joint operation by West PS and SOT personnel in Dimapur resulted in the recovery of 24 soap cases of heroin (294 grams) and the arrest of three individuals, including Nikhim Anthony (43) and Lohna (45) from Manipur, and Akhulu (53) from Nagaland.
Seizures in Kezocha and Kidima
On January 30, a routine highway patrol by DEF Kohima near Kedima resulted in the seizure of 10 soap cases of brown sugar weighing approximately 11 grams. Two suspects, Thupukutho Phesao (32) and Thuputu Veswuh (30), were arrested.
On February 4, during a vehicle check at Kidima Dairy Farm, 74 soap cases of heroin were discovered in a Bolero (NL-07C 8856). Two suspects, Saku Venuh (36) and Daniel Merenmai (37), were arrested.
