Two Naga women kickboxers representing the Nagaland Association of Kickboxing Organization (NAKO) have won gold and silver medals at the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Zonal League (East Zone) 2025–26, held at Siliguri from February 26 to March 1.
Nukshikala Jamir from Mokokchung clinched the gold in the Women’s Low Kick 70 kg category, against contenders from the East Zone, while Lemnon L Konyak from Mon secured the silver medal in the Women’s Low Kick 48 kg category.

The athletes from NAKO were accompanied by coach Mongsen Longkumer and NAKO general secretary Alemtemsu Longchar during the championship.

The East Zone tournament featured competitors from 11 states and carried a total cash award of Rs.11.66 lakh.

The latest Jamir and Konyak’s accomplishments have added to Nagaland’s growing record in kickboxing. Earlier, five Naga men under NAKO had also won a total of five medals, including one gold, two silver and one bronze, along with a fourth-place finish at national levels.
Established in 2000, NAKO has been contributing to the state’s sporting achievements by enabling athletes to compete at national and international platforms.
