The Naga Mothers’ Association has condemned the rising cases of sexual violence against women and children in Nagaland.

The association also appealed for severest action on the accused as per the law and asserted that no bail must be granted.

The association further demanded that all schools and colleges set up the Sexual Harassment Committee to initiate legal action on cases of harassment and sexual violence in their institutions.  Cases being covered up by school authorities without legal action is highly questionable and allows the predator to roam freely and repeat offences on other children and young students, Naga Mothers’ Association said.

It also condemned the violence against one of our Naga daughters in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on the night of 25th September 2023 by the owner identified as one Mohsin of Galaxy Spa, Sindhu Bhavan Marg. The viral video is shocking and severest action must be taken against the proprietor of the spa and action be taken based on the FIR filed.

Naga Mothers’ Association stated that there can be no justification for any kind of violence that threatens the security and life of a woman or child. We stand in solidarity with ZMO and rest of all the civil societies who have come forth to voice out for justice, it further said.
