The Naga Nationalist Council, Lotha Region commemorated Naga Plebiscite Day at the Lotha Hoho Ki on 16th May 2024.
Vice President and Central Executive Council (CEC) member, Yihamo Patton gave a brief history of NNC and the historic undertaking of the Plebiscite in 1951. He lamented the diminishing acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by past council members and expressed concern over declining membership. Yet he expressed optimism in achieving the long awaited Naga independence.

Chairman of Lotha Hoto, Er. Mhondamo Ovung appreciated the organisers for commemorating Naga Plebiscite Day. In his address, Er Ovung emphasized the importance of preserving culture and language, terming them the pillars of Naga identity. He expressed dismay over the apparent neglect of customs and traditions by the younger generation.
Er Ovung also advocated for unity among factions, expressing hope for the long-awaited Naga independence.
The programme, chaired by the President, commenced with an invocation led by Nphyo (Sanis Region), followed by a prayer by Tsumomo (Chanpang Region) in remembrance of Naga Plebiscite Day. Yantsow Murry extended gratitude, and Pikhomo (Sungro Region) delivered a benediction.
