89 years old I. Temjenba Ao, (Kedallo NNC), one of the signatories of the Shillong Accord 1975 passed away today in Kohima.
The funeral of the Octogenarian Naga Nationalist was held at today at 11:00 am at Transit Peace Camp, Mission Compound, Kohima. After the funeral, the mortal remains of Ao will be taken to his native village Longkhüm, Mokokchung Nagaland.
In the late 1950s, I. Temjenba Ao from Longkhüm village joined the Naga National Council (NNC) and served as a Tatar (parliament member). According to the Chairman of the Longkhum Village Council, 1975, Ao joined the Naga Underground Organization, amid challenging times for the Nagas inorder to safeguard the Nagas.

During the tenure of Nagaland Governor LP Singh in Shillong, an accord was signed, known as the Shillong Accord in 1975, where Ao is said to be one of the signatories. Subsequently, he resided in the Kohima Peace Camp established by the Indian government. Born on 18 February 1934, Ao is survived by one daughter and two sons. His wife Y Amongla passed away in the 1990s.
