Naga political solution inevitable after Jan 14 agreement: Rio at Mokokchung

Aonglenden: The Modi government inked a Framework Agreement with NSCN-IM in 2015 and Agreed Position with NNPGs in 2017

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday said that with the 14 January 2023 agreement between NSCN-IM and NNPGs, where they declared their unconditional commitment to collaborate for the resolution of the Naga political issue with the Government of India, the Naga political solution is inevitable.

The chief minister was speaking at the campaign rally for NDPP candidate Sharingain Longkumer from 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency at Soyim Aonglenden in Mokokchung district.

Rio stated that the agreement made between National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) and Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has made the attainment of final solution hopeful. The Naga political issue is almost seventy years old.

The Star Campaigner lamented on the delayed solution and stated that if settlement had arrived sooner the seats in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly could have been increased from 60 to 80 and Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats could be increased to 2 seats each.

Rio commended the dynamic leadership of Sharingain Longkumer who came in as the youngest NDPP member in the 2018 by-poll election. He described Longkumer as a highly responsible personality and stated that he could well be the future leader not only for his Constituency but for Nagaland.

Rio maintained that BJP is one of the most powerful parties in the world under the leadership of Narendra Modi and that the seat sharing of BJP-NDPP will work for the welfare of the whole state and assured to address ENPO statements and look into its implementation.

Sharingain Longkumer, 26 Aonglenden A/C NDPP Candidate, in his speech lauded Neiphiu Rio under whose leadership, the party NDPP has reached its greatest height. He committed to work for the socio-economic upliftment of the people and the Naga Society as a whole.

The candidate stated assured to work towards a state of excellence to Youth and Women Empowerment through digital empowerment and contribute to progressive sustainable development. He urged his constituency people to support him to power again and allow him to serve them.
