Naga Students’ Union Punjab issues advisory on cyber crime and scam call centres; advises registration with Union

In wake of the recent incidents involving cybercrime and scam call centres in Punjab, the Naga Students’ Union Punjab (NSUP) has issued a critical advisory and a formal warning to the Naga youths and students of the region. The Union stressed on the paramount importance of exercising caution and vigilance in all online endeavours and related work to shield oneself from the perils of cybercrimes.

“Moreover, we the Naga Students’ Union Punjab hereby proclaim that in the event of any future occurrences linked to cybercrime, we shall not bear the responsibility of entertaining such cases. The Union is incumbent upon individuals to take proactive measures and remain cognizant of the hazards associated with involvement in scam call centres and similar services,” stated the NSUP.

The Union implored the Nagas in Punjab presently employed in call centres and related workplaces, to heed the warning signs and steer clear of illicit activities.

“The Naga Students’ Union also fervently advises all Naga individuals residing in Punjab to promptly register with the esteemed Naga Students Union Punjab (NSUP). By doing so, the Union stands ready to extend legal aid and a myriad of other forms of assistance in times of dire need. It is imperative to acknowledge that unregistered Naga individuals will not receive the same level of support from the Union,” asserted the Union.

Expressing its commitment to fostering a secure and harmonious environment for all denizens, the Naga Students’ Union Punjab has appealed for the collective cooperation of all in thwarting cybercrimes and associated fraudulent practices.
