In a first-of-its kind initiative, digital education company NagaEd have joined hands with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and Department of School Education (DSE), Nagaland, to introduce a mandatory digital course to equip teachers in the State with vital disaster management skills.
In a press release, NagaEd informed that 500 teachers have already enrolled for the pioneer School Safety Policy Compliance Course. The program targets to certify 10,000 teachers across Nagaland, ensuring a large portion of educators receive this crucial training. NagaEd also mentioned that teachers, both government and private, can enrol at the Department of School Education website: www.education.nagaland.gov.in to receive their mandatory completion certificate.

Speaking about the initiative, Johnny Ruangmei, Joint CEO, NSDMA, said, “Our collaboration is set to transform the landscape of school safety in Nagaland. By bringing the School Safety Policy into the digital realm, we’re ensuring widespread accessibility so teachers and schools can implement these crucial guidelines effectively.”

School Safety Policy Compliance Course features 8 chapters encompassing crucial topics like disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Engaging visuals, informative videos, interactive quizzes, and practical insights provide a comprehensive learning experience.
NagaEd further informed that upon successful completion, participants receive an official certification from the DSE and NSDMA, recognizing their commitment to creating safer learning environments. This initiative aims to cultivate a culture of preparedness within the educational community, ensuring proactive measures are taken to safeguard students and staff.
