Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR), under aegis of HQ IGAR (N), celebrated 188th Assam Rifles Day by organising several events over the past three days from 22 to 24th March 2023, aimed at fostering closer ties with local communities and ex-servicemen.

Friendly volleyball matches were played with local youths of Dessoi, Longleng and Longkhim villages, who were further given an insight into joining AR, a defence update informed.

A painting competition was also organised at Government Primary School, Tuli to instil a sense of togetherness and promote artistic skills among children.

On 24 March, a wreath-laying ceremony was organised at Veer Smriti Complex, Mokokchung to pay homage to our martyrs followed by ex-servicemen meet and lunch.
