Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi has been appointed as the chief whip of the BJP in the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly by the state BJP president, Temjen Imna Along.

The unanimous decision was taken during a meeting of the BJP legislators on 19 March at the residence of Y Patton, Deputy CM and BJP Legislature Party leader.

It may be mentioned that Ayemi is the sitting MLA from Dimapur-I constituency.
