Nagaland is all set to host the Khelo India University Games 2023 at IG Stadium, Kohima.
Addressing the media on February 22, Anthony Ngullie, Secretary, Youth Resources & Sports, stated it was an honour and privilege for Nagaland to host the Khelo India University Games. He added that the State is fully prepared to conduct wrestling as part of the games, informed the DIPR.
Kethosituo Sekhose, Director, Youth Resources & Sports, informed that around 240 athletes and 80 officials will take part in the games. Sekhose informed that guests have been arriving since February 19. Reception desks have been set up at Dimapur railway station and airport to receive the athletes and officials, mentioned Sekhose.
The Director further informed that there will be two styles in the men’s category: Greko-Roman style and freestyle, while for the women, it will only be freestyle.

The games will begin with the commencement programme on February 23 at IG Stadium, Kohima where Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the occasion. The games will culminate on February 25 and the guests will return on February 26, informed DIPR. The 4th edition of the Khelo India University Games is being organised by the North Eastern states with Assam as the main host.
