Nagaland’s rich craft heritage took center stage this week as three leading creative houses from Northeast India – Runway Nagaland Jewellery, Viko Ethnic Weaves, and Vion Art – Wandering Minds – presented a dynamic showcase at Chiang Design Week 2025, supported by NEHHDC through the Ministry of DoNER and North East Council (NEC).

The exhibition drew strong interest from International designers, curators, and visitors eager to explore traditional craftsmanship expressed through contemporary design.

The exhibition featured an impressive lineup from all the eight Northeast States of India under one unified platform. Together, the creators demonstrated the depth of traditional knowledge and the evolving design sensibilities that define Nagaland’s cultural identity today. Their works showcased the exceptional skill of local artisans, ranging from age-old weaving traditions to handcrafted adornments and expressive modern work.

The showcase, part of the festival’s special focuses on indigenous and sustainable craft practices highlighted the depth and diversity of Naga artistry. Organized to promote cultural exchange and support artisan-led enterprises, the event positioned Nagaland as a rising voice in the global design landscape.
