Nagaland Assembly election: 184 candidates from 13 political parties in the final list

Kohima: On Friday, Kazheto Kinimi of BJP won 31 Akuluto Assembly constituency uncontested

The Chief Electoral Officer, on Saturday, released the final list of candidates for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election which is scheduled to be conducted on 27 February 2023.

A day after the last date of withdrawal of candidature, the CEO informed that altogether 184 candidates from 13 political parties are in the fray.

Initially, a total of 225 candidates, including four women, filed their nominations but the nomination papers of 25 candidates were rejected during scrutiny, which was held 8 February.

On late Friday, the CEO had announced that 16 candidates had withdrawn their candidature from the forthcoming election in the state, thus bringing the number down to 184.

On Friday, Kazheto Kinimi from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was also declared winner of 31 Akuluto Assembly constituency after his lone opponent, N. Khekashe Sumi from Indian National Congress withdrew his candidature.
