Nagaland Assembly election 2023: 16 candidates withdraw candidature

Kohima: 10 candidates are Independent, 2 each from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Indian National Congress and 1 each from Republican Party of India (Athawale) and Janata Dal(United).

The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland has informed that a total of 16 candidates have withdrawn their candidature from the Nagaland Assembly election on Friday, which is the last day of nomination withdrawal set by the Election Commission of India.

Out of the 16 candidates, 10 are Independent, 2 each from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Indian National Congress and 1 each from Republican Party of India (Athawale) and Janata Dal (United).

The candidates who withdrew their candidature are P. Engo Konyak, Republican Party of India (Athawale) from 47 Aboi Assembly Constituency; H.B.Moba, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) from 55 Tobu A/C; Kelhouneizo Yhome, Independent from 10 Northern Angami-1 A/C; L. Shiakpong Konyak, Independent from 55 Tobu A/C; Y. Belong Chingmei, Independent from 50 Longleng A/C; R. Kilimong Yimchunger, Independent from 60 Pungro-Kiphire A/C; Kishan Lal Gupta, Independent from 1-Dimapur-I AC; Supu Jamir, Independent from 2-Dimapur-II A/C; Er. L. Tongpang Longkumer, Independent from 24-Angetyongpang A/C; N. Khekashe Sumi, Indian National Congress from 31-Akuluto A/C; Y. M. Yollow Konyak, LJP (Ram Vilas) from 42-Wakching A/C; Thongwang Konyak, Janata Dal(United) from 46-Mon Town A/C; Kyupise Sangtam, Independent from 59-Seyochung Sitimi A/C; P. Mulang, Indian National Congress from 56-Noklak A/C; Kenyuseng Tep, Independent from 12-Tseminyu A/C and Gwalozu Kath, Independent from 12-Tseminyu A/C.
