Nagaland Assembly election 2023: NCP releases list of candidates for 12 constituencies

Kohima: 7 candidates had shifted from the NDPP, primarily because of being denied ticket

The Central High command of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), on 4 February, released the official list of its candidates for the upcoming General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

NCP has declared candidates for 12 Assembly Constituencies out of the total 60 seats in the state.

The candidates are – Namri Nchang: 6 Tening, Er. Zale Neikha: 15 Southern Angami II, Amenba Yaden: 21 Tuli, Er. Picto Shohe: 32 Atoizu, S. Toiho Yeptho: 33 Suruhuto, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe: 38 Wokha Town, Pohwang Konyak: 44 Phomching, Y. Mankhao Konyak: 46 Mon Town, A. Pongshi Phom: 50 Longleng, Muthingnyuba Sangtam: 52 Longkhim Chare, Toyang Chang: 53 Tuengsang Sadar 1, Puthai Longon: 56 Noklak.

Of the 12 candidates, 7 had moved from the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), primarily after being denied party tickets.  Those candidates are Namri Nchang, Er. Zale Neikha, Amenba Yaden, Er. Picto Shohe, Pohwang Konyak, Muthingyuba Sangtam and Toyang Chang.

The NLA election is scheduled to be conducted on 27 February.
