BJP candidate for 33rd Suruhuto Assembly Constituency H. Khehovi, who is on a campaign trail for the upcoming 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, addressed rallies at five villages in the constituency on Friday. The constituency falls in Zunheboto district.
H.Khehovi, who won the 2018 Assembly Elections on a BJP ticket, retained the party ticket in the 20 seats allotted to the party in the seat sharing arrangement with the alliance partner, the NDPP.

Addressing his supporters at Surumi, Tichipami, Sapotimi, Zhekuto, Khuniho and Kholeboto villages, the BJP candidate expressed confidence in the NDPP-BJP alliance adding that the alliance will form the next Government with absolute majority. Stating that the BJP at the Centre and in alliance with the NDPP in Nagaland was sincere in delivering progress and development in all sectors, he called upon his supporters to join hands with him in delivering peace, progress and development in the constituency.
Highlighting the vision statement of the BJP for Nagaland, Khehovi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concern for the people of the Northeast region including Nagaland and the people of the state has reaped the benefits of various development and welfare schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Awaz Yojana (Housing Scheme), PM Gram Sadak Yojana (Rural Road Development), Jal Jeevan Mission (Drinking water), PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (Free Ration), Ujjwala Yojana (Free LPG) and PM Matru Vandana Yojana (Nursing Scheme).

He maintained that the BJP has promised to continue with these welfare schemes with further enhancements of cash and incentives especially for the farmers, women and children.
He said that almost half of his last tenure was hampered by COVID pandemic, and all development aspects were hindered. However, Khehovi said that Suruhuto-Asuto area had witnessed its due share of development despite the pandemic but expressed regret that major projects that were in the pipeline could not be implemented.
Further, he assured to continue with the development aspects if given another term and further appealed to the electorate of Suruhuto-Asuto area to look at the developmental issues that have been initiated under the BJP Government and choose the right legislator to represent the people from 33 Assembly Constituency in the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The BJP candidate was accompanied by Zunheboto district BJP president Shikuto Achumi, BJP Nagaland general secretary Khevishe Achumi, Mandal president Tokhevi Aye, host of GBs, prominent leaders and elders from various villages.
H.Khehovi’s campaign trail will cover almost all the 36 villages and habitations falling under his constituency.
