Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023: DC-DEO Longleng orders government employees to maintain political neutrality

Longleng: The DC and DEO of Longleng has ordered all government employees in the district to maintain political neutrality and warned of stern actions against delinquents

In connection with reports of government servants indulging in political activities and canvassing for various political parties/candidates for the upcoming election, the DC and DEO of Longleng, Dharam Raj, has issued an order directing all government employees under Longleng district to refrain from indulging in all forms of activities related to political parties/candidates.

An update from DPRO Longleng on Friday informed that “as per Rule 24 (1) (2) of Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1968 government servants are debarred to become a member of or be associated with any political parties or organisations, which take part in political activities /canvassing or otherwise interfere with or use his/her influence or assist in any other manner or take part in the election to any legislature or local authority”.

Therefore, all government servants in Longleng district have been ordered to maintain absolute political neutrality.

Further, the DC has also notified all printing press in and around Longleng to strictly adhere to the guidelines regarding the printing of election posters, pamphlets, etc.
