Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023: Income Tax department forms teams to monitor use of money

With an aim to effectively monitor election expenditure and curb the use of black money, the Income Tax department, Government of India has formed Surveillance Teams, Air Intelligence Units (AIU), Rail Intelligence Units (RUI), and 24×7 Control Room.

A press release issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland on Friday informed that with the announcement of the general elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, the Election Commission of India has mandated various central and state enforcement agencies to curb “the use of money power and various forms of inducements”.

All entry points to the state, hotels, farms, formal and informal money brokers and other suspicious agencies/persons will be kept under close surveillance, it informed.

The general public can also register electoral malpractices to the 24×7 toll-free numbers – 18003453878 (Kohima) and 18003453889 (Dimapur).
