The Nagaland Legislative Assembly passed resolutions on regularization of employees in Group A, B, C and D posts appointed prior to 06.06.2016. Leader of the House, Neiphiu Rio moved for consideration and adoption of the resolutions by the House on the final day of the fourth day of the 14th NLA on Friday.
The full text of the resolution regularization of employees in Group A & B is as follows:
“whereas, the State being a welfare State as guaranteed in the Constitution is responsible to provide basic economic security to the citizens and to protect the livelihood of the employees working in any Department,
whereas, the Cabinet in its decision vide CAB-1/14/2023, dated 9th February, 2024 has resolved to adopt a resolution to regularize Group A & B employees appointed prior to 6th June 2016 and appointed against Gazetted sanctioned posts at the time of their appointment and have completed 10 (ten) years of service under the State Government and whose appointments are not subjudice,
This house unanimously resolves:
To adopt a policy to carry out a one-time exercise for regularization of Group A & B employees appointed on contractual or ad-hoc basis against sanctioned posts prior to 6th June 2016 and completed 10 (ten) years of service, by conducting a suitability test by which they may be regularized against the post they are occupying provided they fulfill all the criteria as laid down in this Policy”.

Also, on the last day of the fourth session of the 14th NLA, Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Finance Neiphiu Rio moved to introduce the Nagaland Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2024. The Bill was moved for taking into consideration and was passed by the House.
The August House also voted on the Demand for Grants for the year 2024-2025 and passed it. Speaker NLA, Sharingain Longkumer also announced the constitution of various Financial and Non-Financial Committees of the Assembly for 2024 – 2025 and panel of Chairpersons.
